Rego Park 1st Ward

I am going to miss this ward family so much!!!

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS or Mormons) we don't pick where we go to church. We find the place where we want to live. Then hop on to LDS.ORG and go to the meeting house locator. We then enter our address and up comes a list with where and when to go to church. So easy right!!
Since we travel, a lot, this has become something we use often. It makes finding church easy. It is nice to know that we don't have to go searching for a new church every time we are in a new work location.
Here in NYC we were so blessed to be "zoned" for Rego Park 1st Ward. This amazing group of Latter day Saints welcomed us with open arms. They knew from the get go that our stay was only temporary but that did not stop them form getting to know us, from befriending us, and even giving us jobs to do.
This has been the most racially and culturally diverse ward we have ever been to. We LOVED it!! We loved meeting and getting to know people that were different from us in so many ways, but yet we were all the same in our faith and love of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
The kids have made some amazing friends, who just like their parents, welcomed them like they had grown up together and were just "reconnecting". They became instant bffs!! Children can teach us all how to accept and love others.
Emails, phone numbers, and Skype names have been exchanged. Hugs and good byes have been given. A few tears have been shed. But most importantly life long memories and friends have been made.
We will look back and remember with happiness our time with the amazing people of Rego Park 1st Ward!!
